Two words that began life on a sticker posted around San Francisco and grew into one of streetwear’s most celebrated labels.
The brand racked up a global following, being sold in over 500 stores worldwide, with an SF flagship location, cafe, and community space. Through numerous collaborations, it helped me grow my own following and recognition as an iconic figure within the design and streetwear community. But the changing retail landscape and consumption habits presented a decision: morph the brand into something I no longer feel connected to… or begin a new chapter.
As a Design Director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners I can say I chose the latter. At heart, I’m a graphic artist and all I’ve ever wanted to do is create meaningful things that impact culture.
So while the brand may have been closed down, the mantra lives on. Stay Gold!
