RIP Hubba Hideout

It’s a sad day for San Francisco skateboarding. The long time iconic skate spot known as Hubba Hideout is being destroyed. When I first moved to SF I asked a passing skateboarder to show me where Hubba was located. He took me there laughing when I told him that I wanted to skate it. I had no idea how huge the ledges actually were. All the magazine and video coverage did not do it justice. I am sad to see this spot disappear like so many other spots that me and many others moved to SF to skate.

I am glad that I was able to get a piece of the Hubba ledge as a reminder why I originally came to the city.

I to came to SF for Hubba and the hills, I left years ago but will never forgot the first time I went to Hubba, mid 90′s and already so much had gone down on it, was hard to believe back then and now. It was massive, unless you saw it for yourself you’ll never know.

Grabbed my piece of hubba last week. Sad thing, was trying to look for one of the original skate stoppers but considering they productively removed the entire walk way all i got was some of the bridges gravel (like the one pictured).
